Nursing Contract Opportunity - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Tuba City, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Serves a large, rural area including Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute Native American tribes.
- 73-bed hospital providing comprehensive inpatient/outpatient emergency services.
- Services include dental, ophthalmology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral and eye surgery, and urological procedures.
- Approximately 49% of surgeries are outpatient/ambulatory.
- Diverse community with a mix of Native American, Anglo, Hispanic, and African American populations.
Position Summary
- Primarily assigned to the 5-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- May float to Emergency Department (ED), Medical/Surgical, or Pediatrics units during low census.
- Provides nursing care to critically ill patients of all ages and their families.
- Responsible for inpatient care and post-op recovery for general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients after hours.
- Works independently following doctors' orders, nursing policies, and hospital procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years ICU experience required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license valid in any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico.
- Certifications (must maintain throughout employment):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (must be completed within 6 months of hire)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) (must be completed within 6 months of hire)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (must be completed within 6 months of hire)
Additional Information
- Orientation sessions held every 2 weeks.
- COVID & Flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted after submitting a declination form.
- Shared contractor housing provided; no pets or family allowed.
- Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start date.
