Travel RN Opportunity – Labor & Delivery

Location: McAllen, Texas
Unit: Labor and Delivery (14 L&D beds, 9 Antepartum beds)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit Information

• Number of Staff: 33 (RN and CST)
• Day Shift Core Staff: 1 CNC, 3 RNs, 1-2 CST, 1 Antepartum Nurse
• Night Shift Core Staff: 1 CNC, 3 RNs, 1-2 CST, 1 Antepartum Nurse
• Patient Ratios:

  • Labor & Delivery Final Stage or C-Section: 1:1
  • Antepartum: 1:4
• Equipment: Operating Room, Fetal Heart Monitors, Ultrasound
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Labor & Delivery experience required
• Preferred: BSN degree
• Preferred: Additional L&D experience

Typical Procedures

• Care for laboring patients
• Assisting in OR with C-Sections

Certifications Required

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
