Job Opportunity: Pharmacy Travel/Contract Position

Job Description

• Work with Meditech EHR system, specifically experience with Expanse required.
• Responsibilities include order verifications and checking of oral and IV items in the central pharmacy.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts.

Required Credentials & Compliance

Licensure & Certifications

• State License (Primary Source Verification) required.
• NURSYS Verification required for RNs (if applicable).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required (ARC, AHA, or DoD).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required for all units (AHA only).
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - check unit description if applicable.
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for Labor & Delivery RNs.
• STABLE certification required for NICU RNs.
• NIH Stroke Certification for RNs in ICU, PCU, Med Surg, Ortho/BJ&S, Rehab.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) required for some specialties; may be waived for Medical Surgical floors.

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• Education verification of highest degree earned.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
• Current Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years (or approved exemption).
• Negative TB test (Quantiferon Gold preferred) within 1 year, updated annually; if positive, negative chest X-ray required.
• Required vaccinations or documented immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (10/1 – 3/31).
• Negative 13-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).

Documentation & Compliance Forms

• Proof of I9 or attestation.
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
• Social Security Card or SSN verification.
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
• Residency declaration form if working on a compact license.
• Vaccination declination form if applicable.
• Respirator clearance required prior to start.
• TB Questionnaire as per facility specifics.

Orientation & Work Environment

• Orientation held on-site; business casual attire recommended (scrubs allowed if required for position).
• Orientation includes photo for name badge and facility-specific training.
• Lactation resources available upon request.
• Facility allows any color scrubs for all departments.

Additional Requirements

• Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication and other nursing competencies during orientation.
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• References: 2 professional references required for travel positions within 2 years.
• Performance evaluations required if previously employed over 1 year.
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units.
