Position Details

Unit Information

Unit: 2F Med Surg (Stroke and Neuro designated unit)
Number of Beds: 34 (max capacity 43 patients)
Patient Ratios: 5:1
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 techs, 1 unit secretary (at max capacity)
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 1 tech, 1 unit secretary (at max capacity)
Equipment: Remote telemonitoring
EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills & Certifications

Must Have:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Preferred:
- NIH Stroke Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Typical Procedures

General medical-surgical care
Stroke and neurological patient care

Work Environment & Culture

Personality Fit: Upbeat, engaged, compassionate
Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Recognition: Multiple Daisy awards, stroke certified unit, 850+ days CAUTI free
