Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Portland, Maine

Position Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
• Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
• Contract Length: 16 weeks

Experience & Qualifications

• Required Experience: Minimum 3+ years
• Required Certifications:

  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Preferred Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for NICU
• Preferred Experience:

  • Tertiary, teaching hospital experience
  • Level 1 trauma center experience
  • NICU/PICU and Cardiothoracic experience preferred

Job Responsibilities & Float Requirements

• Float as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, Emergency Department, adult acute and critical care
• Cover entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
• Patient Ratios:

  • Acute care: 1:25
  • Critical care: 1:8

Unit & Equipment

• Number of Beds: Varies daily depending on assignments
• Equipment Used:

  • Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
  • Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
  • Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
  • Airvo, Vapotherm
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

This position is ideal for experienced respiratory therapists comfortable working in a fast-paced, tertiary teaching hospital environment with a variety of patient populations including pediatrics and critical care.
