MRI Technologist Travel Position
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Work Schedule & Environment
- 8-hour rotating flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
- Typical hours:
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 6:30 AM – 9:00 PM
- Monday: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Fast-paced environment requiring ability to work independently
- Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly (does not include on-call time)
- Flu vaccination required prior to start (season begins 09/02; medical exemptions accepted)
- Experience with Epic system and GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners preferred
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related MRI technologist experience
- ARRT certification required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, including setup of equipment (coils, monitoring devices)
- Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other contraindications
- Select appropriate pulse sequences and record all sequences used during exams
- Recommend protocol changes or additional instructions to improve diagnostic quality
- Evaluate scan results for quality and completeness; manipulate images for physician review
- Send images to PACS system, verify exam completeness, and maintain knowledge of PACS capabilities
- Address patients’ physical and psychological needs; explain procedures clearly and patiently
- Monitor patients receiving IV contrast, start IV lines, and watch for adverse reactions, reporting promptly
- Maintain accurate records and statistics related to MRI procedures as required by regulatory bodies
- Edit computer entries for exam descriptions, reasons, and billing accuracy
- Participate in teaching and clinical evaluation of MRI students and technologists
- Engage in continuing education activities during and outside work hours
Additional Notes
- Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local travelers)
- Candidates who have worked at any affiliated facility within the last 6 months will not be considered
- Contract is permanent (Perm) after travel assignment
