Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota

Job Summary
- Provide acute care occupational therapy services.
- Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments to help develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform daily life tasks.
- Conduct evaluations and interventions for individuals with functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments.
- Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities; develop realistic therapy goals and administer appropriate therapy programs.
- Document evaluations and treatment plans; modify plans as needed.
- Educate clients/patients/residents to improve understanding and functional outcomes.
- Treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders.
- Follow clinical practice guidelines and meet all regulatory documentation requirements.
- May supervise assistants, aides, and students.
- Interact with providers, case managers, family members, third-party payers, and public organizations.
Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in North Dakota.
- Certified by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Pediatric experience required.
- Must have appropriate education level per state licensure.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week).
- Occasional weekend shifts every 4-6 weeks.
Work Environment & Additional Info
- Acute care setting.
- Must badge in and out at the facility.
- Dress code: Grey scrubs or business casual (polo shirts in specified colors or business casual attire).
- Charting done via electronic medical record system (EPIC).
- Orientation and training provided by preceptors (PT and OT colleagues) and manager support.
- Must not have a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility (local travelers not accepted).
- Flexibility with variable work schedules and assignments expected.
Note: If previously employed by this healthcare system, a minimum 6-month gap since last employment is required before re-submission.
