Job Details

• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM as needed (also scheduling includes 7 AM - 7 PM shifts)

• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)

• Unit Specifics:

  • 15 LDR rooms
  • 3 OB triage rooms
  • 3 Operating Rooms (ORs)
  • 4 bay Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
  • 4 antepartum rooms
  • Level III NICU

• Documentation Systems: Meditech, CPNS

• Floating Policy: Within women’s and children’s service line

• Patient Care Requirements:

  • Labor and delivery
  • Circulate C-sections
  • IV drips such as magnesium
  • High acuity patients

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Registered Nurse License

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing
• Advanced skills needed:

  • Experience in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit
  • Experience with scrub role and circulating in the OR is helpful

Procedures Commonly Performed

• Cesarean sections (C-sections)
• Epidurals
• Spinals
• Cerclage
• Version

Note: Blood patch procedures are rarely performed and EFM intermediate certification is not required.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Hospital provides scrubs
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
