Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Location: Potosi, Missouri
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
• Administer various rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
• Report treatment effectiveness and provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Provide input for discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to policy.
• Accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Attend facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
• Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapist to obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies.
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to APTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience (required)
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation (required)
• Active PTA license (required)
• Must comply with state licensure requirements (Missouri)
• Compact license allowed

Work Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, night shift (NBO)

This position is suitable for PTAs seeking temporary assignments in Missouri with experience in LTC or rehab settings and who hold an active PTA license.
