Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

Location: Winfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Cardiac and Electrophysiology (EP) experience needed
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience, including at least 1 year in interventional cardiac cath, NeuroIR, IR, or EP labs

Education & Certification

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Associate Degree in Applied Sciences
• ARRT Certification required
• IEMA Licensure required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) through American Heart Association

Skills & Knowledge

• Experience with Omnicell and Epic systems
• Call rotation with current staff (7-9 days in a six-week schedule, including every third weekend)
• Self-scheduling

Preferred Education

• Bachelor of Science Degree

Clinical Skills & Procedures

• Special Procedures: Biopsies, CVC, PICC, tunneled HD catheters, post placements, fistulograms, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, drain placements, ureteral stents, nephrostomy tubes, thrombectomies, thrombolysis, Y-90 treatments, embolizations
• Cath Lab: Diagnostic and Interventions, IABP, IVUS, IMPELLA
• Special Equipment: Siemens C-Arm (single and bi-plane), GE ultrasound

Schedule

• Approximately 7-9 days on call in a six-week schedule
• Includes weekend call every third weekend

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest degree
• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry eligibility and fingerprinting (must be completed in Illinois)

Certifications

• ACLS and BLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Radiology Tech certifications verified within 30 days of start (ARRT and IEMA required)
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification for RNs within 30 days of start

Health & Safety

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
• Fit mask test (3M Aura 1870+) within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (TDap required, TD not accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with documentation)
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and fully vaccinated status required; booster preferred but not required)
• OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance if fit test failed

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific training modules and agreements (privacy, confidentiality, information security, cannabis acknowledgment, sexual harassment training) prior to start
• Completion of accommodation request forms if requesting vaccine or fit test exemptions

Additional Notes

• Candidates must provide 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Competency exams and color blindness testing required
• Self-scheduling flexibility offered
• Call rotation includes weekend coverage every third weekend
