Job Opportunity: Nuclear Med Tech

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel


Unit Information

  • Department: Nuclear Medicine
  • Facility Size: 200 beds
  • Staffing: 5 staff members in nuclear department
    • Day Shift: 2 hospital-based, 2 clinic-based
    • Weekend: On Call rotation
  • Equipment:
    • Hospital: GE Discovery/Xeleris, Case Machine
    • Clinic: GE Ventri/Xeleris, Case Machine
  • EMR System: Meditech

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) license
  • Texas Medical Board (TMB) license
  • ARRT (N) license

Preferred Skills

  • Cardiac and general nuclear medicine experience
  • PET experience (not required)

Typical Procedures Performed

  • SPECT stress tests (Lexiscan, Dobutamine, treadmill)
  • Bone scan
  • HIDA scan (with or without CCK)
  • Lung perfusion scan
  • Amyloid scan
  • Renal flow scan (with or without Lasix)
  • MUGA scan
  • In-111 WBC scan
  • GI bleed scan
  • Gastric emptying study

Work Environment & Culture

  • Passionate, patient-oriented team members who prioritize safety and quality
  • Rotating on-call schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Floating between Cardiac Clinic and Hospital Nuclear Department

Dress Code

  • Olive green scrub tops with black pants or hospital-issued scrubs

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
