Travel RN Opportunity - Emergency Department

Location: Franklin, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility Overview

• New 30-bed critical access hospital with state-of-the-art facilities including three ORs, dedicated endoscopy and radiology spaces, and a 17-bed emergency department with two trauma bays.
• Full-service hospital serving Macon and surrounding counties.
• Outpatient services include wound clinic, full laboratory, digital mammography, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and therapy services.
• Recognized as an Acute Stroke Ready hospital with multiple honors from the American Stroke Association and American Heart Association.

Unit Details - Emergency Department

• Unit Name: ER
• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Staffing: Techs available for cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks on days and nights
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; schedule must meet department needs
• Floating Policy: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
• Patient Experience: Emphasis on AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and keeping patients informed throughout their visit

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Department
• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a nurse, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Trauma Experience: 2 years’ experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Certifications (required before start):

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • CPI
  • NIHSS
  • ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
• Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
