Facility & Unit Overview

• Inpatient rehabilitation hospital specializing in recovery from strokes, brain/spinal cord injuries, amputations, multiple trauma, cancer, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions.
• Features include:

  • Brain injury unit with monitored rooms and specialized equipment
  • Dedicated stroke care unit
  • High-tech therapy gymnasiums
  • Special apartment for practicing daily living tasks
  • Private, family-friendly rooms with sleeper chairs
  • Pet therapy and recreational programs
  • Outdoor healing garden and walking trail
• Patient population: Adults (18+ years)
• Number of beds: 81 private rooms
• Patient ratios: Approximately 1:6-7 during the day, 1:8 at night; each nurse has a dedicated tech
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Epic

Position Details

• Department: Rehab (Med/Surg)
• Floor: 1, 2, and Garden/Lower Level
• Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirements: Float within 5 units (Stroke, Comprehensive, Medically Complex, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury)
• Number of Openings: 1

Requirements

• Licensure: RN licensed in Missouri
• Certifications: BLS (CPR) required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Preferred: Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred
• Personality Fit: Flexible, collaborative, positive demeanor

Job Responsibilities & Environment

• Provide exceptional patient care focused on improving functional ability and quality of life
• Work closely with therapists, physicians, specialists, and family members
• Address physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients
• Participate in a comprehensive treatment approach evaluating movement, strength, flexibility, balance, and tone

Additional Information

• Masking and Influenza Vaccination Policy:

  • Compliance with facility influenza vaccination policy required
  • Approved medical or religious exemptions require mask or N95 respirator use during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
• Dress Code: Black scrubs, agency-provided ID badge required
• Reporting Time: 6:30 PM
• Parking: Garage (upper level or back two rows of lower level)
