OB/L&D Registered Nurse (RN) - Minnesota, Bemidji

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years OB/L&D experience
• Active Minnesota RN license
• Active BLS (AHA)
• Active ACLS (AHA)
• Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Willingness to float to other units such as Telemetry and Med-Surg
• EPIC experience preferred; if not, must specify other EMR systems used

Certifications

• NRP and BLS required
• PALS preferred

Job Responsibilities

• Care for postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric patients, newborns, GYN, Med-Surg overflow
• May serve as second RN in Special Care Nursery (SCN)
• Float to Med-Surg and Tele units as needed

Patient Census & Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

• Average daily census:

  • 5 mom/baby couplets
  • 2 pediatrics
  • 1 GYN
  • 2 labor
  • 4 SCN patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • 1:3 mom/baby couplets
  • 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients
  • 1:3-4 pediatrics

Support Staff

• Ward clerk (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• CNA (Tuesday – Thursday)
• Charge Nurse/Circulator without assignments
• Resource Nurse without assignment
• LPN Scrub Nurse without assignment

Equipment Used

• EPIC One Chart
• Acudose
• Philips Vitals Machines
• Bladder Scanner
• Medula Breast Pumps
• Responder 5 Call Light System
• Medfusion Pumps

Shift & Schedule

• Variable shifts including days, nights, weekends
• 12-hour day/night rotation
• Every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays
• Must assist with schedule coverage for onboarding, vacancies, and staff on FMLA

Orientation & Training

• Equipment and unit orientation on first day
• All clinicians must badge in and out
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work in Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, and Pediatrics units
• Must disclose if previously employed by the facility with at least a 6-month gap before rehire
• Travelers are first to float per union contract
