Job Description

Seeking experienced Medical/Surgical RNs to work in an Emergency Department boarder population, caring for patients awaiting further evaluation and care.

• Shift options: Day/Night rotation (4 weeks each) or straight nights
• Availability required: Every other weekend and holidays

Required Credentials & Compliance

Licenses & Certifications

• Professional Nursing License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
• License/Certificate Verification: Required for submission and onboarding.

Professional Documentation

• Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state; required for submission.
• References: Two recent references required, at least one supervisor or above in the relevant skillset.
• Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
• Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break. Includes county and international searches if applicable.
• Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break.
• Education Verification: Verified through background check company; must verify highest level of education.
• SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check, covering last 7 years of addresses/aliases.
• National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days of start and updated annually.
• Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days of start and annually; includes OIG, GSA, MassHealth & NH Medicaid exclusion lists.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MGB Badge Photo: Color photo taken within past 6 months; no selfies or filters; plain background; symmetrical headshot.
• Fit Test (N95 Respirator): Required within 365 days of start date and updated annually; must be completed on MGB form; no religious exemptions.
• Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) Attestation: Required if fit test is required.
• MMR Vaccine or Immunity Proof: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if >6 month break.
• Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if >6 month break.
• Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray: If positive TB test, chest x-ray documentation required showing no active TB.
• Hepatitis B Vaccine or Immunity: Strongly preferred; record of 3 vaccines or proof of immunity or declination.
• Tdap Vaccine: Preferred within last 10 years and updated upon expiration.

Scheduling & Work Conditions

• Rotations: 4 weeks day shifts followed by 4 weeks night shifts, or straight night shifts available.
• Must be available every other weekend and on holidays.

This position requires compliance with all credentialing, background checks, and health requirements prior to start date.
