Unit Description

• Work in a Progressive Critical Care Unit caring for medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients.
• Patient conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
• Average patient load: 3 high acuity patients.

Required Experience & Skills

• Epic experience is required.
• Competency in care of medical and surgical populations.
• ACLS certification required.
• Experience with advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Familiarity with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics.
• Skilled in managing arterial lines (a line), central venous pressure (CVP) lines, external ventricular drains (EVD), orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols.
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent patients.
• Nurses with large scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well.

Schedule & Contract

• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Weekend block schedule may be considered.

Additional Requirements

• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Competency test required within 48 hours of submission.
• Local candidates from certain counties are no longer accepted as of 1/11/2024.

This role is ideal for experienced critical care nurses comfortable with high acuity patients and advanced monitoring and treatment protocols in a fast-paced environment.
