Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Therapist
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Must hold a valid Respiratory Therapist License/Certification (RST or BRPT)
- Required certifications:
- ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
- BLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
- PALS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) for NICU RNs
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
- ENPC as applicable
- National Tech Certification (NBRC required for RRTs)
- Ohio State License required (RRTs must have Ohio RRT license)
- Must be able to float to Lewis Center
- Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday with 1-2 weeks of training Monday through Wednesday
- Must work 2 winter holidays
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 form and current government-issued photo ID required
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) required within 60 days of start, must be updated for each new contract
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or in-house verification if needed
- Sex offender search, Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Ohio Inmate Registry, Ohio Medicaid Exemption, and Ohio State Abuse Registry searches required within 30 days of start
- Verification of highest degree and licensure within 30 days of start
- 2 professional references required (manager or supervisor; peer references not accepted)
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Employment application or resume required
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (no screenshots/photos accepted)
- N95 Fit Testing required within 1 year of start, updated annually
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (no titer substitution accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility protocol; TB questionnaire required at start and annually
- Immunizations required:
- Rubeola (Measles) – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Mumps – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines (1 booster if only Rubella titer low)
- Hepatitis B – completed series, positive titer, or declination
- Varicella – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant acceptable)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required October 31 - May 31 (declination not accepted; medical/religious exemptions require facility approval and mask-wearing during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccines optional; medical/religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
Additional Notes
- Legal name on all documents must match exactly (no nicknames or misspellings)
- Address on driver's license must match licensure and employment records
- Ohio driver's license holders must not live within 60 miles of the facility (considered local)
- Candidates must complete facility-specific Code of Conduct and Confidentiality agreements prior to start
- Fingerprinting proof of submission is time-sensitive and must be completed within 24-48 hours of contract signing
- Fit testing can be completed onsite if prior testing is not possible before start date
- Candidates with beards have options for fit testing compliance (shave or PAPR/CAPR)
