Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Duncan, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience required
  • Med-Surg RN experience required
  • Telemetry experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to start ASAP
  • Patient ratio: 1:5
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • BLS and NIH Stroke certification required
  • ACLS and CPI preferred
  • Required to cover pediatric patients as needed
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • No on-call duties
  • Float position (may be required to work in different units)
  • Locals accepted
  • Oklahoma or compact nursing license required
  • Feeding tube care and management experience preferred
  • IV therapy and phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (ARC, AHA, or DoD accepted)
  • NIH Stroke Certification required (AHA or APEX accepted)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred (ARC, AHA, or DoD accepted)
  • CPI or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) preferred (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required
  • State nursing license (OK or compact) with primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form if working on a compact license
  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education verification (highest degree earned) as requested
  • Drug screening: 9-panel within a year of start (instant acceptable) or 12-panel within 30 days (facility-specific)
  • Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
  • Fit mask test within last year (N95 or equivalent)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters or declinations accepted with preference for boosters
    • Hepatitis B: positive titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox; boosters or declinations accepted with preference for boosters
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Work Schedule & Other Details

  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • No call required
  • Float position, may cover multiple units including pediatrics
  • Guaranteed minimum 36 hours per week

References & Evaluations

  • Two professional references required within 2 years for travel nursing positions
  • Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency for over 1 year
  • Skills checklist must be updated annually for applicable units

This position is suitable for experienced Med-Surg RNs looking for a travel contract opportunity in a Level III Trauma acute care hospital with a supportive environment and a variety of specialty practices.
