Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT - Nights)
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Night Shift
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs; may float between like units
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Per manager discretion
- Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; all other contracted shifts guaranteed
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning

Work Requirements
- Night shifts, weekends, and holidays required
- Must be comfortable working with both adults and children in ICU settings
- Floating as needed between units
- Only 4 days allowed off for Return to Office (RTO) and no holidays off
- All callouts for scheduled shifts require makeup shifts as deemed necessary by the department
Certifications & Competencies Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Military certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Military certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or Military certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for applicable units
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required and must be updated annually
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required with up to 3 attempts to pass with 80% or higher; remediation required if failed
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually; specific units require advanced or basic dysrhythmia competency
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable)
- Education verification or diploma/transcript required
- Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola) - titer or 2 vaccines
- Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines
- Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines
- Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B - vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions require facility-approved documentation and must be resubmitted annually
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required but documentation is accepted

- Must complete and sign various facility forms prior to start, including:
- Agency Personnel Form
- Emergency Contact Form
- Confidentiality and Information Agreement
- Patient Identification Agreement
- Conflict of Interest Questionnaire
- Staff Call Out Acknowledgement
- Corporate Code of Conduct Acknowledgement
- Policy Tech Access Acknowledgement
- Professional Appearance Acknowledgment
- Parking Registration (if driving to work)
- Computer Use Acknowledgement
- Must submit a professional passport-style photo for badge issuance (no large earrings, face jewelry, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless for religious reasons)
- Must review and sign Respiratory Therapist (RT) Job Description prior to start
- Must complete required orientation and modules before starting assignment
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be comfortable working with both pediatric and adult patients in ICU settings
- Floating between units is expected as needed
- Strict policies on call-offs and shift makeup apply
- Return to Office (RTO) days are limited and holidays off are not allowed
