Job Opportunity: RN PCU/Telemetry

Location: Barberton, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years as an RN in PCU/Telemetry
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) – required for submission
  • ACLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) – required for submission
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification – required before onboarding
• Education: Accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE
• Electronic Health Record: Must have Epic experience within the last year (must be on resume)
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days allowed; no block scheduling requests accepted

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Licenses & Verifications:

  • Valid nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start
  • Primary source verification of license/certificates within 30 days of start
• Health & Immunizations:

  • Fit Test for N95 masks (3M 1870+, Medline Cone Small, 3M 1860 Reg & Small) updated within 1 year
  • Pre-employment physical within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (fully vaccinated, exemptions case-by-case) – recommended but optional
  • MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required October-April; medical/religious exemptions require approval
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results required; no declinations accepted
  • Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Tdap within 10 years – optional
  • Annual TB Questionnaire (Summa form)
  • Drug Screen: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Professional Documentation:

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card or SSN confirmation
  • Criminal Background Check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search, SSN trace, nationwide) within 90 days of start
  • OIG Search within 90 days of start
  • EPLS Search within 90 days of start
  • Education verification via third-party
• Competency & Skills Testing:

  • Unit-specific competency exam (passing score required, updated annually)
  • Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
  • EKG and Telemetry exams with passing score of 80% or higher (within 1 year)
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (updated annually)
• Submission Packet:

  • Complete RN Submission Packet checklist with signatures from candidate and agency

Additional Notes

• Candidates must submit all required documentation and certifications as specified.
• Breaks in service of 30 days or more require repeating certain verifications and tests.
• No block scheduling or extended RTO beyond 7 days will be accepted.

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry nurses with recent Epic experience and all required certifications and immunizations up to date.
