Neuro Stepdown RN (12-hour Nights)

Location: Mississippi (specific city/state not provided)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM (12-hour night shifts)
Schedule: 3-1-3 schedule (6 days on, 8 days off)

Job Details

• Position is for a Neuro Stepdown RN in a 16-bed unit at a Level 2 trauma hospital.
• Patient-to-nurse ratios range from 1:2 to 1:4.
• Medication system used: Omnicell.
• Travelers will float to other stepdown units within the hospital based on competency.
• Weekend and holiday work required, including Christmas Eve or Christmas Day AND New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.
• No on-call, no block scheduling, and no self-scheduling.
• First week does not have guaranteed hours.
• Must maintain this position as primary commitment above any other work.
• Full availability and flexibility with scheduling is required and non-negotiable.

Requirements

• Mississippi RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; TB and ASLS preferred.
• Must pass a pre-assignment Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia (rhythm strip) test with a minimum score of 80%.
• Fingerprinting process must begin within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
• COVID vaccine and flu shot are NOT required; if declined, mask must be worn at all times except during meals.
• Compliance documents must be submitted 7 days before start date.
• Must not have worked permanent or per diem at this facility in the last 12 months.

Additional Information

• Electronic Medical Record system: Epic.
• Scrub color will be provided.
• Orientation sessions available weekly.
• Travelers will be scheduled based on need; no self-scheduling allowed.
• Must provide full DOB, SSN, and RTO upon submission.
