Job Opportunity: PACU Travel Nurse

Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Location:

• Facility operates two PACUs:

  • Shapiro PACU (Outpatients)
  • Feldberg PACU (Same Day Admissions/Inpatients)

Work Schedule:

• East PACU hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• 12-hour rotating shifts with staggered start/end times (e.g., 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM, 9:30 PM - 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 12:00 AM - 12:30 AM)
• In a 4-week block, expect 5 or more late shifts
• Call shift: 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM, one night per week
• If called in during call, minimum 2 hours required
• Two night on-call nurses each night to cover recovering PACU patients and urgent/emergent OR cases

Patient Care:

• Patient ratio: 2:1
• Follow ASPAN guidelines
• Care for patients recovering from OR, IR, GI procedures under anesthesia

Requirements:

• MA nursing license required
• Flu vaccine required prior to start
• ACLS and BLS certification (AHA) required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• No local candidates considered at this time
• Must have a minimum 6-month separation from this hospital system if previously employed (perm, per diem, or travel)

Additional Information:

• Epic EMR system used
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly (does not include on-call time)
• Parking available but can be expensive for day shifts

This position is ideal for experienced PACU travel nurses comfortable with rotating shifts, on-call responsibilities, and caring for a diverse post-anesthesia patient population.
