• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Any license issues must be disclosed at time of submission

Unit Information

• Unit: Cath Lab - RN
• Number of suites/labs: 2
• Average cases per day: 5-10
• Common procedures/patient types:

  • Diagnostic left and right heart catheterizations
  • PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
  • IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
  • Impella
  • Temporary pacemaker
  • TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization)
  • EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair)
  • EKOS (Ultrasound-accelerated thrombolysis)
  • AIF (Acute Ischemic Stroke)
  • IVC filters
  • Infusaports
  • Permacaths
  • Vascular surgery procedures (filters, venograms)

Job Duties

• RNs circulate, sedate patients, and complete documentation
• Must be able to function in the scrub role
• Rad Techs scrub and assist physicians, requiring knowledge of sterile technique
• EKOS experience preferred but training available

Experience

• Minimum 1 year prior Cath Lab or Radiologic Tech experience required

Equipment & EMR

• Siemens software and equipment

Scheduling & Shifts

• Five days per week
• Start and stop times vary based on case schedule
• Call requirements:

  • One week of on-call per four-week schedule (Monday 7 AM to following Monday 7 AM)
  • Call can be broken up to equal one week per four weeks
  • Weekend call: Friday after hours until Monday 7 AM (if not on Monday-to-Monday call)
  • Holiday call: Rotational
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Mandatory call/standby for RNs and Rad Techs

Orientation

• General hospital orientation
• Nursing orientation
• Department-specific computer training
• Up to 36 hours (one week) of orientation in the Cath Lab
• Orientation schedule: 4 shifts of 10 hours each, including late days

Additional Information

• No floating required; extra hours possible on other units if experienced
• Surgical attire provided; lead aprons not provided
• Cardiologists are on call 24/7
• Managed by Director, Coordinator, and Charge Nurse
• Cath Lab Techs (Rad Techs) present on unit

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs seeking a travel assignment with a structured call schedule and exposure to a variety of advanced cardiovascular procedures.
