Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility Overview

Level II trauma center
Comprehensive stroke center
Level III neonatal intensive care unit
Only children’s hospital in the region with pediatric emergency room and 30 pediatric subspecialists
Busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas
Only open heart and interventional cardiology in the region

Unit Information

Unit: E3MCSC (3 Heart)
Location: Heart Tower, Floor E3
Number of Beds: 15
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1-0 PCTs
Patient Ratios: 3-4 patients per RN
Equipment: Sheaths, telemetry, IV pumps (gtts)
EMR System: Cerner

Job Requirements

Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Licenses:
- Registered Nurse License (valid in North Carolina)
Preferred Skills:
- Charge nurse experience
Typical Procedures:
- Post Electrophysiology (EP) lab care
- Post catheterization (cath) lab care

Work Environment & Schedule

Floating Areas: All Medical-Surgical and Step-Down units
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Weekend Shifts: 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
Personality Fit: Flexible, calm
