Travel RN Opportunity - Asheville, North Carolina

Unit Information

Unit: E5 CARD (5th Floor, Owen Heart Center / Heart Tower)
Number of Beds: 40
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 PCTs, 1 Unit Secretary
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 3 PCTs
Patient Ratios: 1:4 (stretch staffing 1:5)
Patient Types:
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Chest Pain (CP)
- Arrhythmia
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Valvular Disease
- Endocarditis
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Post cardiac catheterization/stent
- Post pacemaker/ICD/ablation

Equipment & EMR

Zoll monitors
Baxter pumps
Lift equipment
Bladder scanner
EMR system: Cerner

Required Skills & Experience

Stepdown or progressive care experience
Telemetry experience
Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as:
- Nitroglycerine
- Cardizem
- Amiodarone
- Dopamine
- Dobutrex
- Insulin drip
- Heparin
- Bumex / Lasix

Preferred Skills

Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
Relief charge nurse experience
