Job Opportunity: Dietary Services - Travel/Contract

Location: Port Clinton, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Shift Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Weekends Required: No
Call Required: No
Floating: Required to float between inpatient and outpatient settings

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Registered and licensed in Ohio
• Certifications:

  • Certified Diabetes Educator preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required for all travelers
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for RNs
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required for ER (if applicable)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) where applicable
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Skills: Ability to float between inpatient and outpatient units

• Block Scheduling: Allowed (Mon/Wed/Fri)

Background & Compliance

• Criminal background check required prior to start, including:

  • 7-year FCRA compliant search
  • SSN Trace
  • County, statewide, nationwide criminal checks
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • OFAC and FACIS Level 3
• Background check must be updated for breaks in service of 2+ months
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and must be updated annually
• Fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) required within 3 months prior to start; results must be received within 30 days of fingerprinting
• Fingerprint clearance attestation required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to perform job duties safely
• N95 fit test within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and titers required (or signed declination where applicable):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (updated every 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test (PPD or IGRA) or chest x-ray clearance within 1 year of start
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with proper documentation

Documentation & Verification

• Two positive professional references required, including at least one from the most recent employer
• Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history with at least 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area
• Unit-specific competency exam required, with passing score updated annually
• Unit-specific skills checklist required, updated annually
• Primary source verification of state license required

Additional Notes

• Radiation badge required for travelers assigned to Cath Lab units (not provided by agency for new candidates)
• HIPAA training and orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
• Candidates can start with fingerprinting pending if 7-year background check is complete
