Job Overview

• Position Type: Temporary
• Location: Sioux City, Iowa
• Facility: Acute care setting with cardiac-focused patient population
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Patient Population & Unit Info

• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Patient Population includes:

  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Cardiac Angiogram (pre- and post-care)
  • Ablation
  • Pacemaker care
  • Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
  • Cardioversion
  • Stroke care
  • Management of cardiac drips
• Cardiac Drips requiring titration:

  • Nitro
  • Amiodarone
  • Cardizem
  • Nirdipine
  • Heparin
  • Lidocaine

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Night Block Off (NBO): 16 hours
• Overtime and Holiday pay multipliers apply (details not included)
• Required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays: Christmas, New Year’s, or Thanksgiving
• Limited time off allowed during late November and late December holiday periods
• Floating within the same discipline across local campuses may be required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the market

Required Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown nursing experience
• At least 1 completed travel contract
• Certifications:

  • ACLS
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
• State License: Iowa (Compact license allowed)

This role is ideal for experienced Stepdown RNs comfortable with cardiac patient care and titrating drips in a fast-paced environment.
