Travel Histology Tech - Idaho Falls, ID

Position Details

Specialty: Histology Tech

Shift: Days (05:00-13:30 or 09:30-18:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Certification: HTL certification from ASCP (not just HT cert)
Experience: Minimum 2 years in a hospital setting as a Histology Tech
Skills:
- Certified Histology Tech (HTL) with Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) stains and troubleshooting of programs and protocols
- Embedding
- Microtomy
- IHC experience
- Special stains
- Managing/troubleshooting staining instrumentation
Flexibility: Must be flexible in work assignments

Unit Information

Department: Lab – Histology
Staffing: 2 full-time Histology Techs on day shift; no night shift staff
Equipment:
- 2 Roche Benchmark Ultra IHC stainers
- 1 Roche Special Stainer
- 3 Sakura tissue processors
- 1 Thermo Fisher Embedding system
- 4 Thermo Fisher slide labelers
- 1 Sakura H&E Stainer/Coverslipper
- 4 Leica Microtomes
EMR: Not specified

Typical Procedures

Logging incoming tissues
Embedding tissues
Cutting tissue for staining
Placing slides on staining equipment
Filing slides and cassettes

Dress Code

Scrubs: Charcoal grey or business casual underneath a lab coat (lab coats provided)
