Position Details

  • Specialties: ICU, ER, and Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Employment Type: Not specified

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must have a New York State nursing license at time of submission (can screen without license initially).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the specialty to be screened to the manager (unless otherwise noted).
  • Prior travel experience preferred but not required.
  • Full Social Security Number (SSN), Date of Birth (DOB), and Return to Office (RTO) date must be provided.
  • No previous permanent or per diem staff at this facility can travel here again, regardless of time elapsed.
  • Only one submission per healthcare professional to Ellis Medicine at a time.

Scheduling & Orientation

  • No self-scheduling; assignments based on facility needs.
  • No block scheduling allowed.
  • RN/LPN orientations are bi-weekly:
    • ER RN orientation every other Tuesday
    • All other RN/LPN orientations every other Monday
  • Allied health orientations are weekly on Mondays.

Work Environment & Compliance

  • Scrub color and shoe requirements provided in the unit details.
  • No artificial or gel nails; no chipped polish allowed.
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccine declinations are accepted.
  • BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) can be obtained prior to start date.
  • All compliance documents must be submitted 7 days before the start date.
  • Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
  • Travelers are required to float to other units within their competencies.

This opportunity is suitable for ICU, ER, and Medical-Surgical RNs who meet the licensing and experience requirements and are comfortable with flexible scheduling and floating within their skill set.
