Unit Information

• Unit: 5T PCU
• Number of Beds: 33
• Patient Ratios: 3:1 or 4:1
• Unit Staffing: Unit Secretaries Monday-Friday 7am-7pm; Nurse Externs available at times
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Work every other weekend, 36 hours per week, with flexibility to fill in scheduling needs
• Floating Policy: First to float
• Patient Experience Focus: Pain management, communication, and responsiveness

Hospital Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ALS (Advanced Life Support)
• EKG Interpretation

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with Post-Op CABGs, vascular, and general cardiac patient populations
• Knowledge of cardiac drips/titrations and electrolyte replacement
• Experience managing Chest Tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires, and TR Bands

Dress Code

• Scrubs in Galaxy Blue, Red, or Black
