Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Brownwood, Texas
Start Date: Must start on 12/15
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Candidates located at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
Required Certifications
- ACLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
- BLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
- PALS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – as applicable
- ENPC – as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable, with annual updates required
- State License Verification (within 30 days of start)
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for Telemetry RNs
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
- Tech Cert Verification - National (within 30 days of start)
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; update annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Education Verification (highest level) or transcript/diploma
- Texas-specific checks:
- DADS Employability Status Check within 30 days of start
- Employee Misconduct Registry check within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
- Fit Mask test (annual update required; 3M 1860 Regular or 1860S mask)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
- TB Questionnaire (annual)
- Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
- Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
- Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series of 3, or declination; booster or declination post titer if low/equivocal
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; booster if negative/equivocal
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or exemption for 2025-26 season
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival (positive result is automatic cancellation)

- Candidate must review and sign multiple facility-specific acknowledgments and agreements prior to start, including:
- Vaccination Information Acknowledgment
- TB and Occupational Exposure Acknowledgment
- Patient Centered Pledge
- Contract Employee Receipt and Acknowledgement
- Computer Security Agreement
- Corporate Compliance Acknowledgment
- Confidentiality Statement
- Employee Misconduct Registry Acknowledgment
- Self Identify Form
- Relationship to Physician Form
- Authorization for Background Check
- Traveler Identification Form
- Review of Employee Handbook (information only)
- Completion of orientation modules (~3-4 hours) with parking available at no cost
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (online Ishihara test acceptable)
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references within 3 years of start
- Copy of resume/application required
- Skills checklist updated annually
