Job Opportunity: Surgical Services - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Clinical review and auto offer process
• Schedule: 4 ten-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (hours may vary occasionally)
• No call, no weekends
• Can approve 40 hours for time off
• Required certifications and licenses:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • State license
  • SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates)
  • CER (Certified Endoscopy Registered)
• Required experience with EPIC and Provation systems

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS: Required for all candidates except Case Managers, Histology Techs, and MLTs
• State License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts
• SGNA and CER: Required for this specialty
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit or specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI) — verify with recruiter if applicable

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
• Education verification through a third-party vendor; official transcripts required (photocopies not accepted)
• Fingerprinting may be required depending on unit (facility will notify)
• Abuse registry search required only for candidates assigned to Unit 5 East and behavioral health units
• Drug testing: 10-panel screen including marijuana and fentanyl, required within 2 months of start and updated annually
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (no exemptions allowed)
  • 2-step TB test or Qgold (Chest X-ray if positive)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or specific antigen titer protocol)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or titer; declination required if titer negative)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (mandatory, no exemptions)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of various forms prior to start, including:

  • Professional Appearance Guidelines
  • Release Authorization
  • TB Screening
  • Traveler Compliance
  • EH Screening Form
• Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles (completed onsite if needed)
• Pass/Fail Cardiac Rhythm Assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units
• Acknowledgment of pass/fail testing required for applicable positions
• Medication and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
• Performance evaluations and internal evaluations required if previously worked with the system over 1 year
• Radiation badges are no longer provided for new candidates; existing badge holders will be grandfathered
• Behavioral Health candidates require Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention)

This position offers a structured schedule with no weekends or call, requiring specific certifications and experience in surgical services with EPIC and Provation systems. Compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific documentation is mandatory.
