Job Description

Critical care registered nurses provide care for patients with severe medical issues such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities include:

• Assessing patient condition and planning/implementing care plans
• Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
• Assisting physicians with procedures
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Managing ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment (including adjusting ventilator/IABP)
• Administering IV fluids and medications
• Suctioning
• Collaborating with the critical care team
• Responding to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols
• Acting as patient advocate
• Providing education and support to patient families
• Caring for pre- and post-operative patients
• Some may perform case management, policy making, or administrative duties

Requirements

• Must have an Idaho RN license or multi-state compact license (license must be attached to resume)
• ACLS & BLS certifications required (must be American Heart Association certifications and attached to submission)
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience

Contract Length

• 12 weeks
