Travel RN Opportunity - Corpus Christi, Texas

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Unit: Med/Surg, 3 East Floor
Unit Size: 22 beds, 30 staff members
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, 0-2 sitters
- Night Shift: 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, 0-2 sitters
Patient Ratios: Maximum 6:1
EMR System: Meditech
Dress Code: Scrubs

Required Qualifications

Experience:
- Minimum 1+ year acute med/surg experience within the last year
- Ability to care for 4-6 patients simultaneously
Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years experience working with neurological patients (e.g., CVA, TIA, AMS)

Typical Procedures Performed

Care of medical/surgical patients
IV insertions
Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
Central line maintenance
Medication administration
Communication with care team members
Documentation in EHR
Continuous bladder irrigation
Nasogastric tube (NGT) insertion and maintenance

Work Environment & Culture

Friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused atmosphere
Floating to other med/surg units may be required
