Description

Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 32 weeks


Assignment Details

  • Work setting: Adult ICU, Adult & Pediatric general units (Inpatient)
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend
  • Schedule: Monday to Sunday, no block schedules
  • Holidays: Must work 2 out of 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
  • No call schedule flexibility required

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) not accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Prior travel experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (NRP required upon submission)
  • NICU level experience must be documented in work history
  • All specialties worked must be clearly documented on each employment entry
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible)
  • Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April

Orientation & Onboarding

  • Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
  • Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
  • Complete and detailed work history required (including bed count, EMR, facility type)

Background Checks & Verifications

  • Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification based on job requirements
  • State license verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
  • NURSYS verification for applicable professions
  • Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and search required
  • Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC) criminal background check required for Vermont placements
  • COVID-19 vaccination attestation and questionnaire required
  • Drug testing required for New York facilities (not for Vermont)

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS, BLS, PALS must be AHA approved (no RQI with only recommended renewal date accepted)
  • Tech certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required
  • Color blind testing required
  • Competency exams as required by specialty

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • N95 Fit Test required prior to assignment and updated annually (approved mask types specified)
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or titer
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination required
  • Pneumonia vaccination or declination required if assigned to New York facility

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Passport-style photo for badge (plain light background, no logos, hats, or filters) required 2 weeks prior to start
  • Review dress code and telephone usage policies prior to start
  • Complete auto registration form within 48 hours of signed contract
  • Complete COVID testing protocol on Day 1 if required (includes Day 1 testing and mask-wearing)
  • Complete EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours, non-billable)
  • Complete emergency contact form and other facility-specific forms as required
  • NameTag verification and Workday information attestation must be completed

Additional Notes

  • Reliable transportation is essential due to lack of public transit
  • Vehicle must be equipped for winter conditions during Nov-April
  • All documentation and verifications must be current and complete for submission and assignment start

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with recent Epic experience, teaching hospital background, and flexibility for night shifts and holiday coverage.
