Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer

Facility Overview

• Location: Berlin, VT

• Department Size: 40+ staff (only 3rd shift works alone; candidate must be CT/X-Ray trained)
• Equipment includes:

  • 7 X-ray rooms (including off sites)
  • 3 C-Arms for OR
  • 2 CT units
  • 1 MRI (GE Optima 450w, wide bore)
  • 4 Ultrasound machines (2 GE Logic E10, 2 Samsung WS80A)
  • 1 Nuclear Medicine unit
  • 2 Mammography units
  • X-ray equipment brands: Phillips, Toshiba, Canon, TRAD, Carestream

Contract Length

• 16 weeks (interpreted as weeks)

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer with general ultrasound experience including some vascular
• RVT and ARDMS (AB or OB) credentials required
• Minimum 2 years of unit experience
• EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required (non-negotiable)
• Prior travel experience not required
• Certifications preferred: ARRT for radiology, vascular for ultrasound

Job Details

• Floating: Yes, within radiology, fluoroscopy, OR, off sites, etc.
• Charge and floating not required for ultrasound tech/sonographer
• Weekend Requirements: On-call rotation only (8 AM - 12 PM), every 4th-5th weekend
• Call Requirements: Yes, including holidays (must work 2 out of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Day)
• Shift Hours: Usually 8-hour shifts, schedule posted
• Self-scheduling: No
• Holiday Requirements: On-call coverage required
• Orientation: Bi-weekly, next available orientation on Monday

Work Environment & Dress Code

• Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), closed non-skid shoes, minimal jewelry, groomed hair/beard, no artificial nails
• Documentation System: Epic
• Medication System: Not applicable
• Work involves surgery and fluoroscopy
• Procedures typically routine exams due to community-based hospital setting
• Scheduling for procedures:

  • Mammography: 15 minutes apart
  • MRI: 45 minutes apart
• Average number of exams per day: 12-14 (6 AM - 10:30 PM)
• Injections required for CT and MRI (contrast injections)

Additional Notes

• Must be flexible with schedule; no block schedules allowed
• Must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
• Complete work history required (bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.)
• Public transportation is not accessible; reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended
• Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November to April
