Respiratory Therapist Travel Position
Location
- Facility Type: Hospital (341 beds)
- Trauma Level: 2
- Patient Population: Neonate to Adult (Age range 0 – 100+)
- Unit: Respiratory Therapy
- Floating: Required (will float to hospital floors, nursery, and ER as needed)
Employment Details
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 16 weeks
- Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Scheduling: Rotation schedule with variation based on department needs
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day/Eve)
- Call Requirement: None
- Orientation: 2 days (bi-weekly orientations on Mondays)
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Minimum Clinical Experience: 2-3 years in respiratory therapy
- Specialty Experience: At least 2 years in respiratory therapy
- Neonatal/Pediatric Experience: NRP certification required or some experience/exposure to neonatal/pediatric population
- EMR Experience: EPIC experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
- Licensure: NY state license or proof of application required (NY license processing takes 6-8 weeks)

- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Dress Code: Scrubs in black or ceil blue
- Shoes: Closed, non-skid
- Jewelry: Minimal, per hospital policy
- Hair/Beard: Groomed; no beard if wearing N95 mask
- Nail Polish: Follow hospital dress code policy
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Special Equipment: Puritan Bennett 980 & 840 ventilators, LTV1200 ventilator
- Respiratory support available 24/7
Additional Notes
- Must be flexible with schedule to meet unit and patient care needs
- No block schedules allowed
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible)
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November to April
- Complete and detailed work history required for submission (including bed count, EMR, facility type)
- Orientation and compliance requirements must be completed promptly after start
