Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Minimum Experience: 1 year
• Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call Schedule: Every 4th weekend and 1-2 weekdays per week
• Licensure: Pennsylvania license or compact license required and must be in hand
• Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Scrubs Provided
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA, ARC, Military acceptable
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA, ARC, Military acceptable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): As required (check unit details)
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs, must be renewed annually
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units; online training accepted; annual certification required
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable, must meet passing score
• Competency Exam: Required as applicable, must meet passing score
• NURSYS Verification: Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
• State License Verification: Primary source online verification required

Background & Screening Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, and PA statewide (Patch Certificate)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
• HHS/OIG check required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verifications accepted)
• PA FBI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)
• PA Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 1 year of start
• 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
• Annual skills checklist

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years (declinations accepted with facility form)
• Immunizations or declinations required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season Nov-April)
• COVID vaccination or declination required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required for this facility)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style, no filters)
• Completion of facility orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of medical surveillance checklist prior to start
• Completion of bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start
• Completion of vaccine declination forms if applicable

Additional Notes

• No onsite classes available for MAB, CPI, or Comprehensive Crisis Management certifications; online training accepted
• Annual certification required for crisis management-related certifications
• Candidates must complete all required documentation and screenings prior to start date

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of experience who hold a valid PA license or compact license, are comfortable with the specified shift and call schedule, and meet all certification, background, and health requirements.
