Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Midland, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
Start Date: January 5
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years preferred (all surgeries except hearts)
- Experience with pediatrics and critical care strongly preferred
- Level II trauma experience preferred
- Experience recovering patients in Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN
- Experience with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines (A-lines)
- Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op
Call: Call required
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required as applicable (Antepartum, L&D, Mother-Baby, NICU)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for ER and as applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Preferred for L&D (Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN)
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required for all clinical positions (not required for Allied)
- Chemotherapy certification – Required as applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Required as applicable
- State License Verification – Required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) – Required within 30 days of start
Experience & Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Required as applicable
- Competency Exam – Required within 1 year of start
- Age Specific Competency Exam – Required within 1 year of start
Background & Screening Requirements
- 10-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including SSN Trace, State, County, and aliases where allowed
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Check within 30 days prior to start
- Texas Employee Misconduct Registry and Employability Status Check within 30 days prior to start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Fit Mask (N95 Fit Test) within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start (PPD, QGold, or TSpot)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Rubeola (Measles) – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B – Positive titer or series (3 doses) required
- Varicella – Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox required
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Agency Declination required (October 1 - March 31)
- COVID-19 Vaccine preferred but not required
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign Confidentiality and Security Agreement prior to start
- Drug Screening and Blood Testing Consent Form must be signed prior to start
- TB Questionnaire required for all candidates regardless of TB status
- Compliance Checklist to be signed by candidate and agency
- Certification by Cost Center review (quality management use)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required and updated annually
Additional Notes
- Candidate must have valid government-issued photo ID
- Resume or employment application required
- Two professional references within 3 years required
- Call coverage is required
- Must be able to assist with Pre-Op coverage
