Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Contract Length: 14 weeks


Unit Details

  • Weekend Schedule: Every Other Weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Holidays:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
  • Major Holidays Include:
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
    • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
    • New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Compliance & Screening

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Clinical screening will determine clinical fit before manager approval
  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 hours for 14-week assignment)

Required Documents & Compliance

Identification & Background

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID (Photo ID required)
  • Background Check within 30 days of start, including:
    • Perm and Non-Perm County checks
    • National Sex Offender Registry
    • Nationwide Criminal Search
    • FACIS 3
    • Education Verification (related degree)
  • Diplomas required for Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)
  • Education verification can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)

Certifications (as applicable)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs, RRTs, CRTs in specified specialties; must be current before start or obtained within 30 days for CRTs
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required as per specialty
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire; no re-certification required
  • Tech Certification Verification: National allied license verification within 30 days prior to start
  • State License Verification: Must be current within 30 days prior to start; CRTs & RRTs must be licensed in Georgia
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start
  • NIH Stroke Certification: As required by specialty

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by agency)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates; alternative assessment available for blood collection tasks)
  • Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by agency)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, Cardiac step-down, etc.) with up to 3 attempts allowed

Facility-Specific Documents

  • Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement (must review/sign prior to start)
  • Dress and Professional Appearance Policy (must review)
  • Additional compliance checklists and vaccine declination forms apply only to privileging specialties (e.g., CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant, RNFA)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required by agency within 1 year of start (not required by client)
  • Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if past positive, additional documentation required
  • TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
    • Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
    • Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
    • Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination; declination form required if titer negative
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
  • Flu Vaccination or Declination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); vaccination available onsite

References & Work History

  • Two clinical references required by agency (not required by client)
  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
  • Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
