Shift Details
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Day/Night rotation with 12-hour shifts
- Start times and rotations include:
- 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
- 3:00 PM – 3:30 AM
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Ultrasound-guided IV placement and vein finder experience required
- Experience on a pediatric vascular access team required (Pediatric VAS experience)
- Experience with pediatric to adult populations, including HemeOnc and ICU
- IV placement skills required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend availability required
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care units if assignment extends beyond 13 weeks
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for specific pediatric intensive care and emergency units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Preferred for NICU, must have PALS or NRP
- Chemo certification – Required for Oncology
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required for Labor & Delivery (AWHONN preferred)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) – Required for Psych and Behavioral Health positions
- State License verification (MA)
- NURSYS verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Professional certification verification relevant to position (e.g., ARRT for Radiology, NBRC for Respiratory Therapy)
Special Requirements
- Pediatric Vascular Access Team experience
- Ability to rotate between day and night shifts
- Weekend work required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year, cleared to work with no restrictions
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap after age 11, no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual requirement)
- TB Questionnaire (within 30 days of start, required if past positive PPD)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B – Must meet one of the accepted documentation options (series + titer, declination, etc.)
- Varicella – Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within last 12 months (not required for APN)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (deadline and documentation required)
- COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (highly preferred, not required)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety Agreement) required for all travelers
Background & Compliance
- 10-year criminal background check within 6 months prior to start date
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance within 6 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Background checks must be started within 24 hours of booking
- Employment application with 10-year work history and explanation for gaps over 30 days
- Two professional references from two separate employers within last 3 places of employment
- Skills checklist specific to unit and scope of practice within 1 year prior to start
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted within 50 miles of facility
- Parking available with discounted rates and free parking for night shifts
- Scrub color: any solid color for all units except OR (provided) and SPT (any color, not provided)
