Job Details

Specialty: Progressive Care Unit RN
Location: Quincy, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shifts
Unit: 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (IMC) with a 1:3/4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
Patient Population:
- Dysrhythmias
- Cardiopulmonary conditions
- Sepsis
- High flow oxygen needs
- Behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications

Requirements & Certifications

Illinois RN License
ACLS required
BLS and NIHSS certifications

Work Environment & Support

9-bed CVU and 12-bed ICU units nearby
Automated charting system
One week of orientation provided
Unit educator available to support staff
High patient throughput typical of step-down units
Medication drips commonly used include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine
May work up to every other weekend
