Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technician

Location: Kinston, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 4x10 hour shifts or 5x8 hour shifts (40 hours per week)
• Every other Saturday required
• No on-call duties

Job Description

• Perform echocardiograms, carotid doppler studies, and transesophageal echos with high professionalism and technical skill
• Provide quality diagnostic and therapeutic care across all patient age groups: newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
• Expected to float to similar or lower acuity areas as needed

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• ARDM certification or CCI RCS required
• Registered Ultrasound Technician preferred
• North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ultrasound field required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; background in cardiopulmonary or ultrasound preferred
• EPIC experience preferred
• Must be willing to work within a 50-mile radius (no local candidates)

Dress Code

• Scrub tops and bottoms can be solid or patterned but must be appropriate
• Scrub colors cannot be light blue or royal blue
• No specific scrub color required for ECHO

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required for all units
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for ER and PACU; preferred for OR
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) required for LDRP and RRT
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) required for ER; preferred for other units
• NIH Stroke Certification required for PCU/tele, ER, ICU, CCU; preferred for MS/tele
• Tech certification verification required as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission training) required annually
• State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

Background & Health Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days while on assignment
• Education verification required within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test required for RRT (can be completed onsite)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap within 10 years (no titers accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or proof of past positive with documentation)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines, positive titer, or physician documented history
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval)
  • COVID vaccination proof if vaccinated (requirement can be waived if not vaccinated)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted except as placeholder)

Additional Notes

• Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the manager
• Must include Return to Office (RTO) information in submission to be honored at time of offer
• Candidates required to complete LMS modules during orientation

This position is a replacement role and requires a professional with strong technical skills in echocardiography and ultrasound diagnostics, comfortable working in a travel/contract capacity within North Carolina.
