Job Opportunity: ECHO/Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer

Location: Dublin, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced ECHO/Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer to perform ultrasound imaging procedures related to vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology. The role involves using GE Logiq E10 ultrasound machines to conduct various vascular and cardiac studies.


Work Schedule

  • Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Work every other holiday
  • Night, weekend, and holiday call required (details discussed during interview)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sonography or related field
  • Education: Completion of a two-year allied health program (e.g., sonography, radiology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, or RN)
  • Certifications:
    • ARDMS - RDCS or RCS certified with RVT or RVS (required)
    • BLS certification (must be obtained prior to start; pending accepted)
  • Required experience in both ECHO and VASCULAR sonography

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound procedures including:
    • Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI), segmental and exercise ABIs
    • Lower and upper extremity arterial and venous studies
    • Carotid artery imaging
    • Abdominal aorta (complete, limited, and screenings)

  • 110-bed hospital
  • Level III trauma center
  • EMR system: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Charcoal grey

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • I-9 and E-Verify Attestation Form
  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID (if driving is part of job duties)
  • Proof of name change documents if applicable
  • Residency Declaration Form (date declared should reflect when candidate began living in Ohio)
  • 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening
  • Education verification consistent with job requirements
  • State-specific background checks for Ohio (e.g., Abuser Registry, Rehabilitation & Correction, Nurse Aide Registry)
  • Required certifications:
    • BLS (AHA, ARC, or Military accepted)
    • ARDMS or CCI certification for Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
    • State licensure as applicable
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, color blindness, unit-specific competency, and dysrhythmia/EKG exams
  • Physical exam within 2 years indicating clearance to work
  • Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year (if applicable)
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in L&D, NICU, or Mother/Baby units)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Medical and employee information release form
  • OhioHealth candidate agreement and confidentiality/internet use agreements
  • Fingerprinting required for certain roles and must be completed prior to or on first day of orientation

Additional Notes

  • Traveler’s permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the central facility to be eligible
  • Facility carries latex-free gloves and can accommodate latex allergies
  • Fit testing is not available onsite and must be completed prior to start (except Rehab Hospital assignments)
  • OhioHealth has a mandatory shave policy for medical offices and non-hospital settings (not required at hospital locations due to PAPR availability)

This position is ideal for a qualified sonographer with vascular and cardiac experience looking for a travel contract in a well-established hospital setting with a structured schedule and comprehensive credentialing requirements.
