Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Milford, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Requirements
- Must have a valid Massachusetts nursing license (Perm MA license in hand required)
- Minimum 1+ year Emergency Department (ED) experience
- Certifications required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, nights; every other weekend and every other holiday required
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Licensure & Background
- Valid MA nursing license verification required within 30 days of start
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including:
- SSN Trace
- County searches for all counties lived/worked
- National criminal search
- OIG, NSOR, SAM checks
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance required within 30 days prior to start
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Employment application covering 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Two professional references within the last three years
Certifications & Competencies
- Medication Exam required for all RNs and LPNs
- Telemetry Exam required for RNs working in telemetry units (including Labor & Delivery) with only one attempt allowed; not required for OR, Psychiatry, Mother-Baby/Postpartum, NICU
- Other certifications may be required depending on specialty (check specific unit requirements):
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred for ER
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - may be required or completed on-site
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
Health & Immunization
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable (2 PPDs or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days)
- Required immunizations or documented immunity (positive IGG titers or vaccines) or facility-specific declinations for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (3-dose series or reactive titer)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Seasonal vaccinations or declinations required for:
- Influenza (flu) vaccine during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccine (most recent as of August 2025) or facility-specific declination
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (urine panel including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, fentanyl, oxycodone, and others)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Various declination forms required if vaccines are declined (e.g., COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, TDAP, Varicella) with some declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU units
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates regardless of TB status
- Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
