Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Sanford, North Carolina

Facility & Unit Overview

• Acute care hospital with 137 beds
• Emergency Department with 21 beds (12 telemetry, 3 behavioral health, 5 fast track)
• Patient population: all ages
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner
• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: every other weekend and some holidays
• Call requirements: none
• Float requirements: as needed

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing
• Required certifications prior to start:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • De-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)

Skills & Experience

• Must have:

  • Emergency nursing
  • Trauma care
  • Resuscitation
  • IV therapy and IV drips
  • Oxygen demand support
  • Blood products administration
  • Basic telemetry/EKG interpretation
• Preferred:

  • Emergency Medicine experience
  • Psychiatric Emergency Room experience

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• COPD
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Cardiac emergencies
• Neurological emergencies
• Stroke

Additional Notes

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
• Travel assignment requires candidates to be 60 miles or greater from the facility
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this role
