Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Job in Allentown, Pennsylvania
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Therapy)

- Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
- Education: Degree or certificate in Radiation Therapy (or equivalent)
- Certifications Required: ARRT (T) and BLS
- Equipment Experience Required:
- Varian linear accelerators
- Aria Record and Verify system
- Varian TrueBeam
- BrainLab exactrac
- GE CT simulator
- Preferred Experience: RPM and AlignRT
- Floating Requirement: May float to nearby hospital location
- Weekend Requirement: None
- First-time travelers: Accepted
Compliance & Credentialing Requirements
Background Checks
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years (including SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide criminal, sex offender, DMV if applicable, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
- HHS/OIG check upon hire
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance within 90 days of start (required for all except remote workers outside PA)
- Education verification for highest level related to specialty
- Pennsylvania State-specific searches including Child Abuse Search, PATCH, Medicheck, and DHS fingerprint results within specified timeframes
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all clinical staff, must be AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for certain units (ER, ICU, etc.) as applicable
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)
- National certification verification prior to start and upon expiration
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Pass/Fail Testing (Basic Dysrhythmia exam) with minimum passing score of 88%, annual renewal required
- State License verification and NURSYS verification as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification for applicable units
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual, with remediation policy)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start
- Fit mask test (not required for 100% remote non-clinical)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with specific guidelines for positive history
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive antibody or completed vaccine series, no declinations)
- Varicella
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel or 9-panel (without THC) within 60 days of start; observed drug screen required if dilute result
- Hepatitis C titer (for OR and Dental only)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required for new candidates starting October-May; declination allowed only under specific conditions with masking policy
- COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form (not required for 100% remote non-clinical)
- Respirator safety clearance required annually for candidates starting 04/07/2025 and beyond
Facility Specific & Administrative Requirements
- Photo for badge (new candidates starting 3/31/2025 and later)
- Affidavit for provisional employment prior to start
- COVID and Flu vaccine declination forms if applicable
- Badge request form (time sensitive for candidates starting before 3/30/2025)
- Fit Test Questionnaire required for all candidates prior to start (except 100% remote non-clinical)
- Chain of Custody form required if observed drug screen is performed
Employment History & References
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start
- Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days
- Work history verification required for non-clinical and 100% remote candidates
This position is suitable for candidates with radiation therapy experience on Varian equipment and related systems, who meet the comprehensive credentialing, certification, and health requirements outlined above. No weekend shifts and first-time travelers are welcome.
