Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Specialist
Location: Athens, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Overview
- Minimum Experience: 2 years (1st time travelers not accepted)
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Eligible Backgrounds: RN, RT(R), CVT (RCIS), or RCES (cross-training in all roles common)
- Work Setting: Electrophysiology (EP) Lab (separate from Cath lab)
- Case Types:
- Pulmonary Vein Isolation (PVI) including Farapulse - Pulse Field Ablation
- Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) - Watchman
- Leadless Pacemakers (Single and Dual chamber)
- Transvenous Pacemakers, ICDs, CRTDs/Ps
- EP studies, RF, Cryo, and PFA ablations (PVI, VT, SVT)
- Concomitant studies with LAAO procedures
Job Responsibilities
- Ability to scrub and circulate; proficiency in at least one role required
- Work in a high-volume, 2-room EP lab open daily from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Patient-to-staff ratio approximately 1:5
- Use of systems: Epic Cupid (required), Pyxis, Abbott Claris EP recording system, GE Mac Lab
Schedule & Work Conditions
- No weekends required
- Floating required
- Call: 2 late shifts per week (stay past scheduled shift until cases complete, typically no later than 6:00-6:30 PM)
- Holidays: Must work major holidays during assignment as follows:
- New Year’s Eve & Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving & Black Friday
- Christmas Eve & Day
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- State License (Georgia) for CRTs & RRTs
- Additional certifications may be required depending on specialty and role
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to orientation scheduling
- Clinical screening to determine fit before final manager approval
- Background check, education verification, and drug testing required prior to start
- Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations (including TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu) required
- Competency exams including medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, and color blindness testing required
Orientation & Training
- Non-billable orientation hours proportional to contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours orientation)
- Facility provides scrub color
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy
