Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Paterson, New Jersey
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Must have a New Jersey or compact nursing license at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS, NRP, and IV Certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Certification in Fetal Monitoring required (AWHONN fetal monitoring course or NCC EFM certification)
• Must be able to care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum patients, and circulate/recover OB surgical patients
• Familiarity with natural and C-section deliveries required
• Every other weekend required
• No floating, no on-call, no travel pairs
• May be scheduled for one summer and one winter holiday
• Blocked scheduling will not be considered
• Acrylic/artificial nails not permitted; nails must be clean, short, and polish designs non-distracting

Certifications & Competencies

• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA Provider or Instructor card)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Fetal Monitoring Certification (AWHONN or NCC EFM)
  • ACLS preferred (AHA Provider or Instructor card)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
  • General competency exam required

Background & Verification

• Criminal background check within 1 year, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Nursys license verification required
• Employment history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (NJ candidates)
• 2 professional references or evaluations required
• Employment application and skills checklist required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year, must be completed prior to start
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form accepted
• Negative TB test (Q-Gold, T-Spot within 6 months or Two-Step PPD within 1 year) or chest X-ray if prior positive TB
• Positive titer or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B titers required; declination form accepted if non-immune
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Hepatitis C antibody titer required if working in dialysis-related patient care
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
