Travel RN Opportunity - Bowling Green, Kentucky

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Number of Beds:

  • Ortho: 30 beds
  • Med Surg: 37 beds
• Patient Ratios: Typically 6:1
• Staffing:

  • Utilizes Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Skilled Nursing Externs (SNEs) in tech roles
  • Unit Secretary available during day shift
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling:

  • Schedules are in 4-week increments
  • Full-time requires working 4 weekend shifts per month (e.g., 3 Saturdays and 1 Sunday)
• Floating Policy:

  • Float to inpatient units to take patients
  • Float with tasks in Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Emergency Department (ED)
• Patient Experience: All experience levels welcome

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Procedures and Responsibilities

• Some bedside procedures performed by MDs (less common than in CCU/ED)

Dress Code

• Scrub top and bottoms required
• No fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters
• Long sleeve shirt under scrub top or scrub jacket permitted
• No shoes with holes
• No denim or camouflage clothing

Additional Notes

• Unit uses a team approach with support staff (PCTs, SNEs, unit secretaries)
• Opportunity to work with experienced staff and established protocols
• Floating provides variety and exposure to different inpatient units including CCU and ED
